botoxAlong with many different dental services, the Center for Family & Implant Dentistry also offers a number of aesthetic services. These services can make you happier with the way you look and can solve various cosmetic problems that you may have. These methods are safe and effective, and they have been used for many years to help our patients feel better about their appearance.

Are You Thinking About Botox?

Botox is used in medicine and dentistry in a number of therapeutic ways, but it is also used for cosmetic ones. Botox is a time-tested treatment that can smooth wrinkles, even when they’re deep. It will also help with fine lines. We offer Botox services so our patients don’t have to find a new clinic to visit. We do it right here in our Bluff City and Kingsport offices. Botox is administered in minimally invasive injections that take just a few seconds to apply. They are given at certain points where they will help the targeted lines and wrinkles to become smoother. The treatment will bind to the muscles, causing them to become highly relaxed. Generally, when the muscles around the wrinkle can be calmed, the skin lays flatter. Botox is often used between the eyebrows, forehead, and around the mouth. There is no downtime with this treatment and no healing phase. The full effects will be seen about two weeks after the injections, and the effects can last up to six months.

Using Juvederm for Smoothing the Face

Juvederm injectable treatments can also fight wrinkles and works very differently from Botox. It is a filler for soft tissues and is injected at various depths. This allows it to add volume to the tissues and fill in the wrinkles. It can make the face look smoother and provide more volume in the face. Like Botox, this has a temporary effect that wears off after about six months as the body absorbs it. The substance injected is a naturally-occurring one, hyaluronic acid. Some people need only one injection, while others need multiple ones to get the desired effect. Doing a lot of strenuous physical activity can shorten how long it lasts.

Do You Need a Sinus Lift?

Also called sinus augmentation, this surgery allows for the easier placement of dental implants. If you have wanted dental implants but had too little bone to support them, you aren’t alone. This is common in people who have had a tooth missing for some time. Bone loss happens for many reasons, but it doesn’t always have to stop you from getting the implants you want. With a sinus lift, the bone in the upper jaw is increased. This is done by adding some bone into the area between your premolars and molars. This requires the sinus membrane to be lifted. It can then result in enough bone to hold onto an implant.
