Teeth Whitening

teeth whiteningYour smile is a connection with others. It is often the first thing that people notice about you. For those with tooth staining, teeth-whitening methods can help brighten their smiles. We want you to have that white smile that lights up the room. At the Center for Family & Implant Dentistry, we offer two ways that you can get your teeth whitened, depending on your personal preference and convenience.

Get Your Tooth Whitening Done at Home

It’s highly common for teeth to become stained due to smoking, drinking dark liquids, taking certain medications, or an injury to the teeth. With tooth whitening, those stains are removed and lifted away from the teeth to lighten them. There are many ways that this can be done, and we offer two methods of teeth whitening. Both of these methods are non-invasive. The first way is to use a home whitening kit at your own convenience. While there are plenty of tooth-whitening kits available over the counter, the one from our office is stronger — using a professional concentration of whitening ingredients. This allows for efficient whitening that gets more of these ingredients to the teeth more effectively. We will show you the components in the office and instruct you how to use them at home. Our home whitening kits can make your teeth whiter by several shades for a smile that looks very different. This process requires using the kit several times as prescribed to achieve brighter teeth. Be sure to use them for the amount of time prescribed and for the number of times needed to get the best results. If you don’t want to wait for this gradual whitening process to lighten your teeth, we have another option.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

The second method we offer is an in-office treatment that is much faster. To get this solution, you have to have an appointment and come into the Kingsport or Bluff City office — but you also get your teeth visibly whitened in about an hour. Many people don’t want to engage in multiple treatments to get their teeth whiter, making this solution a good one for them. It is also possible to get the in-office treatment for quick whitening and then take the at-home kit to use for an even whiter effect. Talk to Dr. MacConnell about whether this plan is right for you.

Brighten Your Smile With Our Tooth Whitening Options

Not all tooth staining is fixable by teeth whitening. Some stains, such as those that occur by the long-term use of certain antibiotics, can’t be lifted away. When the dentist looks at your teeth, he can tell which type of staining you have and whether one of these whitening solutions will work for your specific stains. If you want to be happier with the color of your teeth, call the Center for Family & Implant Dentistry today to set up an appointment to talk to Dr. MacConnell about your concerns. If this isn’t the right method for your staining, we offer other cosmetic treatments that will work better for you.
